Who am I?

Hello, I’m Corné Gieselbach. I’m a Christian scholar who teaches, writes, and tries, often imperfectly, to be faithful to the ordinary work God has given me. Much of my life is shaped by Scripture, prayer, and study, and by the slow work of learning how these belong together.

I serve as Chair of the Bachelor’s Program at Theos Seminary, where I teach sacramental theology, church history, historical dogmatics, and spiritual formation. I also write a bi-weekly Substack called The Altar of Moriah, and publish books that reflect my ongoing attempt to think carefully, pray honestly, and remain rooted in the life of the Church.

This site gathers that work in one place. It is not a platform so much as a record of a life being formed, through the same grace that has sustained the Church across the centuries.

My heart is for believers to discover the fullness of their faith and receive the rich inheritance that is historic Christianity.
